It’s a new year and I just wanted to start something new. I came across Singum Corvus school of arms which seemed like a great place. Vlad and Nick radiate their passion in a way that inspires interaction. A few weeks in and I became obsessed with long sword practice, history and discipline. Thank you Vlad and Nick for sharing your knowledge and experience in a safe, enjoyable and respectful environment.

Excellent School of Arms, diving deep into the historical manuals reviving a beautiful lost art. Teaching a variety of courses from rapier, Longsword or sabre, learning techniques of legendary swordsmen from Medieval, Renaissance and Napoleonic eras. Masterfully taught by coaches Nick and Vlad. I have been a proud student of theirs for years. Signum Corvus is bringing back chivarly to the modern age!

I had looked for a HEMA club in the GTA for years until Signum Corvus came along in 2021 and found exactly what was missing. This is a group of gentlemen who possess sportsmanship and willingness to learn and help each other. And that is only the members. Vlad and Nick are skilled fighters and great teachers who are patient and understanding. They take great care in grounding their students in form and technique and make sure we understand what we are doing. I'm grateful to have found them.

Such a fabulous place. The people are superb. Everyone is friendly and you feel like everyone wants to help and for you to succeed. And as you progress through the sessions you do feel like you're making progress. Great work out to boot. Highly recommend.

A great place to learn whether you're starting off with HEMA or looking to polish your skills. The instructors know their stuff, and have done a great job cultivating an environment that is welcoming to all and always pushing you to improve yourself.

This is a great HEMA club in a great location to cover the west end of the GTA.In 2023 Signum Corvus is a growing club with a healthy mix of members with different skill and experience levels. The instructors are constantly adapting and improving their teaching methods to make the learning experience fun, engaging, safe, and effective. The environment I've experienced with other members has been supportive and welcoming, in class and online, and definitely has space for both scholars of the historical treatises and people more focused on progressing toward modern tournament bouts. The club is still pretty young at the time of this review, so sometimes class enrollment is limited by the amount of available club equipment. As the club grows and buys more equipment, and as more of the returning club members acquire their own gear, I suspect that this bottleneck will gradually ease and SC will be able to grow even more.I highly recommend Signum Corvus School of Arms as a place to learn and practise HEMA.

Vlad and Nick strike a good balance between theory and practice. While the focus of the class is around Italian Longsword as recorded in Fiore's 15th century manuscripts, emphasis is given to why a certain technique was used as much as the how.Signum Corvus is a pleasantly diverse group of individuals, from completely new members to veterans with years of experience from various walks of life. It's a social group as much as it is a martial arts training group.Personally, I joined the Longsword course on a whim an hour before the deadline, but I've now been a member for months. It's been one of the best spur-of-the-moment decisions I've made. I wholeheartedly recommend giving it a shot.

Taking the classes are a ton of fun! The people are very low-key and focussed on every one having a good time in a safe and welcoming environment. If you've ever been curious about medieval swordplay, I'd highly recommend trying it here.
